This pilot credit enabled the project team to "think beyond" siting, conventional building materials, landscape, cultural inclusion and education. The project is called American Indian Hall and the chosen site is on the main campus mall. It had previously been blessed as sacred ground and used for gatherings and ceremonies. Now a building striving for LEED Platinum, this credit encouraged use of materials gathered from all of the 12 Indian Reservations in the region, a full "inclusive design" by the tribes and the Native American students on campus. Research and learning was integral to this project and documented for this Pilot Credit.
