Municipal law requires that our building be completely smoke-free inside. It also bans smoking next to the building, but it’s not as stringent as the 25 foot LEED requirement. Do we have to make another policy that bans smoking within 25 feet?

We want to designate a smoking area less than 25 feet from an emergency exit. Is this okay since that door is rarely (if ever) used?

What if I have a zero-lot-line property and no control over the sidewalk?

Leakage Test Requirement

Hi,

 

I have an high rise residential project and the property wants to permit people to smoke on the balconies.

My question is: the Tests for leakage are to be performed on each dwelling units or is it possible to reduce the tests to some rapresentative unit? (for example, typological apartment or typological square meter).

Hi Mario, the v4 Reference Guide says "A sampling rate of at least one in seven smoking units can be used, per the Residential Manual for Compliance with California’s 2001 Energy Efficiency Standards, Chapter 4." I don't believe this has changed under v4.1.
