I have a data center with 1500 kW nameplate power. I've seen that there are two different diversity factor and usage factor to calculate the total yearly electricity consumption of data center. The usage factor accounts for the difference between actual power and it's nameplate(67%). Diversity factor is basically the schedule of operation and based on COMNET 2019(modeling guideline) is around 62.5%. Which of the following calculation option is correct? I think using both factors would underestimate the total energy per year and I think option 2 should be the correct one because option 1 double dipping the actual electricity consumption. Please let me know your thought on that.
Option 1: 1500 kw * 0.67 * 0.625 * 8760 = 5,502,375 kWh/year
Option 2:1500 kw * 0.625 * 8760 = 8,212,500 kWh/year
