CS EA credit Enhanced Cx - who can serve as CxA

Any precedent in pursuing the Enhanced Cx credits with a CxA who is also the design engineer for P/FP/FA, but is not providing M/E design?

Design engineering for M/E will be provided by a different engineering firm.

A separate group of the P/FP/FA will provide CxA services.

No, I have not seen this kind of contracting and it would not comply with requirements of the enhanced commissioning. This also makes ultimate responsibility for all Cx processes murky at best. While different firms doing building systems and envelope makes sense from an expertise basis, separating out some building systems does not (to me). In general, the weirder the contracting, the more difficult to manage and get approved.
