NC-v4 MRc4:Building product disclosure and optimization - material ingredients

REACH registration number

In safety data sheets the calcium diformat is labeled with REACH registration number 01-2119486476-24-xxxx

Therefore I would think that it is included in the REACH lists but in the REACH lists I am not able to find that, neither the CAS no. (544-17-2) nor the EC no. (208-863-7):

https://echa.europa.eu/it/candidate-list-table

https://echa.europa.eu/it/authorisation-list

So, is that ingredient compliant with the credit or it isn’t?

Best Regards

Hi Francesco your links take you to different lists. Your compound is not listed as substance of very high concern (SVHC), neither is on the candidate list to become one. Another words it's not banned or restricted in any way, and will not be in the nearest future, but requires customers to be informed about hazard. However, it is a substance that can cause some hazard (to health/environment), hence it has to be listed in section 3 of sds, of your formulation (if it meets criteria). It might also trigger obligation in terms of labeling.  ECHA has its own database about hazardous substances, and more about it you can find (using your compound as example): https://echa.europa.eu/it/substance-information/-/substanceinfo/100.008.058 https://echa.europa.eu/it/registration-dossier/-/registered-dossier/15220 Hope this help

Hi Francesco You can find the substance by searching on this link: https://echa.europa.eu/it/information-on-chemicals/registered-substances?p_p_id=dissregisteredsubstances_WAR_dissregsubsportlet&p_p_lifecycle=1&p_p_state=normal&p_p_mode=view&p_p_col_id=column-1&p_p_col_pos=1&p_p_col_count=2&_dissregisteredsubstances_WAR_dissregsubsportlet_javax.portlet.action=dissRegisteredSubstancesAction  You have to search by calcium diformate and you'll find the information: https://echa.europa.eu/it/registration-dossier/-/registered-dossier/15220  Hope that helps. Calcium diformate 208-863-7544-17-2            10 000 - 100 000 tonnes per annum This is the only registered substance of this type, i.e. with this CAS no.544-17-2   when you search for the substance and view the information, you find the following ACTIVE registration numbers of this substance:
  • 01-2119486476-24-0000
  • 01-2119486476-24-0001
  • 01-2119486476-24-0002
  • 01-2119486476-24-0004
  • 01-2119486476-24-0006
  • 01-2119486476-24-0007
  • 01-2119486476-24-0008
  • 01-2119486476-24-0009
  • 01-2119486476-24-0010
  • 01-2119486476-24-0011

  • 01-2119486476-24-0014
  • 01-2119486476-24-0015
  A REACH registration number follows the following structure: TYPE(2 digits) - BASE No.(10 digits) -CHECKSUM(2 digits) - INDEX No.(4 digits) Several examples of REACH registration numbers:
  • Example 1: 05-2114087395-52-0000 (pre-registration number);
  • Example 2: 01-0000589787-41-0034 (registration number);
  • Example 3: 17-2119587809-36-0000 (late pre-registration number);

Thank you very much all of you. The Reference guide states: “End use products and materials that do not contain substances that meet REACH criteria for substances of very high concern”. I understand that calcium diformat is registered in the REACH list but it is not listed as substance of very high concern (SVHC). Therefore, that ingredient is compliant with the credit. Correct?

That's right Francesco. It is registered as hazardous substance, but it is not on SVHC list, nor on candidate list (to become SVHC).  cheers P.S. in the future maybe this will help you: first briefly what SVHC is all about: https://www.hse.gov.uk/reach/resources/svhc.pdf then, autorisation list (so all approved/confirmed SVHC), you can also find it directly is Annex XIV of REACH Regulation: https://echa.europa.eu/it/authorisation-list and here list of substances that are under revision (so called candidate list): https://echa.europa.eu/it/candidate-list-table in both cases use filter to find your substance (which is not obvious). I usually double check by name and CAS number.  Good luck!

The CAS registry number can be lookup on google with keyword "cas number lookup"
