NC-v4 EQp1:Minimum indoor air quality performance

Required spaces for IEQp1 calculator

Hello,

I was under the assumption that the IEQp1 calculator should only include densely occupied spaces, but I'm having trouble finding any documentation around which spaces should be included in the IEQp1 (all spaces, or only "densely occupied")?

Hi Jasmine, the calculator must include not only densely occupied spaces but all occupiable spaces, as defined by ASHRAE 62.1-2010, which basically includes all spaces in the building except those only used for equipment retrieval.

You can enter all zones served by the ventilation unit OR you can simply enter all the potentially critical zones served by the ventilation unit. If all zones are not entered you will need to enter system level information manually....since the EQp1 calculator will not auto-populate if all zones are not included within the calculator.   Good Luck!

Thank you! Where do you see guidance on only including critical zones?

Thank you for responding! Where do you see that all spaces should be included?

All occupied spaces must be accounted for in the calculation; this can happen one of two ways. #1. List all zones served by the ventilation unit. OR #2. List only the potentially critical zones and manually provided system level information.  We always pursue option #2 listed above, since it is quite a time saver.  The ventilation calculator allows the project team to select yes/no to the question "All zones are included in the VRP calculation"
