CI-v4 EAc1:Enhanced commissioning

Solar Panels

Do solar panels that are being installed by the building owner need to be commissioned before the LEED submittal or can the commissioning be done later?

They aren't being installed for a few months after construction wraps up.

I would expect GBCI would allow the solar panels to be commissioned at a later date but would require the team to provide the contract that outlines the contractual obligation to do so.  Are the solar panels included in the energy model? GBCI may have more concern from the energy modeler claiming the energy cost reductions from solar panels that are not installed as part of the project construction.

....If the energy model option was pursued. (just saw that this is a CI project)

Thank you David, we are going to upload the contract as evidence as you suggested.

Hi Alexis, how did it turn out for your project? We are having the same case wherein we have pending installation and commissioning of some solar panels.    Thanks.
