My question is about the column in the calculator that asks for
"Commingled Waste: Average Percentage of ADC Produced by the Sorting Facility (%)"
That number doesn't seem to be factoring into any of the equations. We have a side worksheet where we are subtracting % ADC from total % diverted. Is that the right way to do it? If so, why is this column here? For informational purposes?
Advice on how others are figuring this out and what to put in this column would be appreciated!
The facility's reported diversion rate for Mixed C&D is (79%), Average ADC is (17%).

Hi Emily. Are you utilizing the facility average diversion rate or are you using project specific diversion rates? If you are using the facility average diversion rate, then ADC is excluded entirely from your calculations. If you are documenting through project-specific diversion and using the calculator as you mentioned, then I would add in ADC as a line item, noting it as commingled and landfill. The weight/volume has to be noted so it gets tallied in the total waste. The column you have questioned doesn't automatically calculate itself for me. I am not sure if it ever did (and the calculator might just not be functioning) or if it is truly left as an editable field. I am reaching out to my technical support contact for further guidance on if the calculator is functioning properly. I will update you once I hear back. For me, it has been editable regardless of if it is white or gray. If your hauler report notes the percentage then go ahead and plug it in there, along with the total weight or volume of the ADC in Column E. The ADC quantity noted in Column E is what contributes to the calculation, so you should have to separately subtract anything. Does your hauler report note both the percentage as well as the weight/volume? It might be more manual than you'd like, but I suggest plugging in the values to match the hauler report. You are going to have to provide data from the facility since C&D and ADC are both commingled, so just make sure the calculator agrees with the documentation you received from the hauler.
