CI-v4 EAc4:Renewable energy production

PV installation built and commissioned prior to Occupancy

Our project is a 6 story office building, 250,000 sq feet. It is underconstruction. The owner wishes to 'resurrect' a PV covered parking structure that was in DD when it was taken off the table.

RE: Renewable energy systems must be installed and commissioned prior to project occupancy.

I have found 'no' other information concerning' this stipulation other than the "Renewable Energy Production' v2 form.

Question: Does anyone have any experience or knowledge how we can install and commission this system post-occupancy? The owner will have permitted drawings with a contract for Cx in hand for submission.

Is this a CI project?

Yes. Sorry I neglected to mention. LEED IDC v4.

So a portion of the building is undergoing a fit out or the whole thing?

Presently the whole building. We are hoping to achieve credit points under Renewable Energy Producation and Energy Optimization. (w/energy model) Again, I didn't see this stipulation anywhere but the LEED Online Form Change in Addenda and the v2 Form itself. I had been using v1 Form. Thank you so much for your time and effort. If there is a way to achieve this credit providing the aforemention CDs, and Cx contract, it would put us over the edge to achieve certification. Kind Regards, Green Gary

Yep I see the same thing now that I looked closely and it just makes absolutely no sense to me at all. I could not find anything further out either. I would contact USGBC directly.

I have the same question. Did you find a resolution?

It is my understanding that the system must be installed and commissioned prior to the final LEED construction submission, not prior to occupancy.
