The owner has been considering to replace their patio furniture because it looks weathered. They have been researching qualifying furniture but aren't happy with the look. If they were to refurbish their existing furniture, say by powder coating or painting it, does that qualify as Material Reuse for the furniture portion of the credit?

Since you're not purchasing the furniture, it can't count toward the credit, no.

Hi Bo, it sounds to me like if you painted furniture, that could be considered "routine maintenance" and the paint would be included in this credit under Option 1. Like it says under the Viewpoint section, your credit documentation would need to "include all materials purchased to maintain your building (e.g. paint touch-ups) in addition to products purchased for renovations or fit-outs."
