Retail-NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

Minimum Required Efficiency out of range

Hi Marcus,

If the capacity is already out of range stated in ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Table 6.8.1D for  Packaged Air-conditioning system SPVAC - (Cooling Mode) with maximum 240,000 BTU/h, can the project still use larger capacity as long as it meets the minimum 8.6 EER?

Yes. Technically there is no minimum efficiency required since the standard does not address the equipment in question.
