All:
I am currently working on a new Headquarters / Visitor Center for the Fish & Wildlife Services located in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. The project team is working to obtain the Pilot Program 55, Bird Collision Deterrence. Can anyone talk about ways and/or exhibits they have communicated how and why bird deterrence measures were incorporated into the project? My thought is this would be an excellent talking point for Green Building Education for all visitors.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback.

Lauren,
we just had an pretty good presentation about the topic from Pilkington Glass. Contact your local rep and ask about their AviProtek product.

Hi Lauren,
Haven't done so to date but agree its a great outreach topic! There are some statistical facts/suggested strategies for homeowners/visitors that you can cite from American Bird Conservancy - perhaps for posted flyer/display board and/or spoken tour - https://abcbirds.org/program/glass-collisions/ , https://abcbirds.org/get-involved/bird-smart-glass/, https://abcbirds.org/get-involved/bird-friendly-life/

I ave submitted this for a few projects; we did use the links Joanna provided above to inform the required monitoring plan, and also explained it at a high level in our green education documentation.

Hi - You might check out the Oregon Zoo Education Center. We did several displays and signs about the bird-friendly glass.
