Are all listed ISO standards required

Hi Ward, see addenda # 100002220 - it updated the language to remove that long list of standards and only reference 14025 plus EN 15804 or and ISO 21930.

An EPD that ONLY conforms to 14044 is valued at 1/4 of a product. This EPD conforms to 14025 and EN 15804, so it should be valued at 100%. 

Hello Ward, we are also looking at Mapei products in our v4 certification. However, I've seen that their EPDs have internal verification when the Reference Guide page 252 seems to require an external one(?) I was thinking about using Mapei EPD as the ones worth 0.25 of a product but there is no info about the ISO 14044. I'm so lost with the EPD credit, maybe I'm looking at this too much. I don't want to mess in your head but maybe you've already found the answer to this problem when looking at Mapei EPDs.

My understanding is that 14044 guides the development of an LCA, which is what a manufacturer would use to develop an internal EPD.

And 14025 sets the standard for EPDs, so they can be used to compare products. 

On this particular product, I'm seeing on page 1 that it conforms to 14025 as required for a Type III product specific EPD, but then deeper down in the document there's an external / internal verification checkbox with only "internal" checked. 

So I think you are right, Katarzyna, that it would also need that "external verification" to qualify as a full product. But I'm trying to find something in the ref guide right now that clearly states that one way or another and that's proving difficult...

Emily, I'm sure you got that but the place in the Ref Guide were it is stated that the EPD must be externally verified is page 512 (not page 252 as I wrote before - that's the page from ID v4, sorry). 

I also wonder if conforming with ISO 14044 is required to get 0.25 point. I came across a declaration with no program operator (so it can't count as 0.5 or 1 product). The EPD however is verified and conform to ISO 14025 and EN 15804. Can you tell me if it's worth at least 0.25?

I'm still parsing the list of criteria listed here, but it sounds like that Mapei EPD would be valued at 3/4 product if they are all met.

I am looking at an EPD for TPO Membrane that lists ISO 14044 and ISO 14025, but not EN 15804 or ISO 21930. I think it is industry-wide. Does it qualify as an EPD?
