School as a Teaching Tool French Learning Lab??

I am working with a Francophone school in Canada who wish to pursue the School as a Teaching Tool innovation credit. We have run into a snag in that the USGBC learning lab is available only in English or Spanish. Is there a French version in the works or an acceptable alternative?

Hi Leanne,  That shouldn't be a problem--there is no requirement that you use USGBC's learning lab resources, and there are tons of other materials available to work from. LEEDuser has a Tip Sheet dedicated to this, and lots of guidance on the LEED 2009 version of this credit. Those are in English, but I expect that if you look at what's there and get a feel for how people are approaching this you'll be able to find similar materials in French to draw from.

Now I have a question of my own about this credit. In 2009/v3 it was clearly its own credit, but in v4 it seems to be in limbo.  It shows up as an Innovation Point in USGBC's credit library, but I was only able to find it by Googling it. It doesn't seem to show up in the list of credits in that credit library, and we don't have it listed as a separate credit here on LEEDuser. There also isn't any Reference Guide material showing up online for it.  Does anyone know if it's really it's own credit or just an option for achieving an innovation point?

I am aware of the tip sheet thanks, part of why I posted here was to make aware the need for the French version. I was hoping there was an alternative in French already because to set up the program will take a significant amount of more work than to just register for the learning lab.    To answer your other question, the learning lab is a component of the innovation credit 'school as a teaching tool'. There are no separate ID credits on LEEDuser (although maybe there should be since we can pick from a list?). It shows up on the credit library under 'innovation catalogue', not the actual credit and is an option for achieving an innovation point.
