ETS Blower Door Test- Suite Preparation

Hello Everyone,

I am doing a blower door test for a LEED project (LEED NC 2009), and I was wondering if you could kindly make some comments on the requirements of the suite preparation to do the test. Based on the reference guide, the test is done as per ASTM-E 779-03. Section 8.2 of this standard says "HVAC balancing dampers and registers should not be adjusted". Therefore, my interpretation is that all the vents of the suite including bathroom exhaust vents, intake vents, and kitchen hoods must be left as found. This means no sealing or mask is required for these vents and this is an "as operated" test. Can anyone please confirm this with me?

This seems fairly straightforward based on the standard, but I know there are companies who do the test with all the vents sealed off. So I just wanted to make sure that my interpretation of the standard here is correct.

Much appreciate your kind response!

Cheers,
