Hello,
I am currently working on a project for which I am writing a M&V Plan implementing Option D of IPMVP. The current energy model shows 13 % cost saving (using typical ECMs) over the baseline (Based on ASHRAE 90.1-2007). recently the owner added a PV system to the building. this increases the cost savings to 49%.
How can I add PV system into my M&V plan (Option D)?
Do I need extra sub-meter for the PV system to directly measure the net energy output from the PV and subtract it from the whole-building Energy consumption?
Or Do I have to write a separate M&V Plan Option B for the PV system?

Typically PV systems have some sort of meter included with the system. If net metering is in place in your area then at the very least the output could be derived. There needs to be some way to account for the output of the system and it is probably already built into the system design. If not then yes you should install a meter. Include that measurement in the Plan for Option D.
