NC-2009 EAp1:Fundamental Commissioning of Building Energy Systems

EAp1--Required for Central Plants?

Hello all,

We are kicking off a project for LEED 2009. The project is connected to a district Hot/Chilled water plant. In order to meet this credit, will we be required to commission the central plant in addition to what is in the scope of the project?

If you are only pursuing fundamental Cx, then you do not need to commission the DES. However, if you are pursuing enhanced commissioning you will be required to commission the DES systems, but there are all sorts of exemptions and other notes. Best to refer to the DES Guidance v2.0 which is available in the Credit Library for EAp1 under the Resources tab.
