We received the documentation confirming that material which will be applied on site (steel elements in these specific case) has emission of VOC compliant with ISO 16000-9 following French legislation on VOC emission class labeling and has emissions scenario for ceilings A+. So the material meets EQc2 requirements. However, in Low-Emitting Calculator there is no option to enter A+ in TVOC Range column. What value should we apply in this section for material described above? Thank you in advance for answer.

Dear Agata, I am sorry but A+ is not good enough for LEED compliance when talking about coatings. The European alternative pathway of compliance with the General Emissions criteria requires AgBB compliance, and on top of that, low emissions of formaldehyde below 10 µg/m³. A+ is good enough only to show the low emissions of formaldehyde below 10 µg/m³. AgBB compliance requires additional documentation on many individual VOCs, including the R value, as well as TSVOC, and TVOC.

Dear Reinhard, Thank you for your professional answer. Nevertheless, we would like to make sure in specific issue and ask about your opinion.
In above mention document for steel, beside the information about its compliance with ISO 16000-9 following French legislation and A+ scenario, there is a table with A+ Substances/Emissions’ class. In these table we have subsequently: Formaldehyde <10 µg/m³; Acetaldehyde <200 µg/m³, Toluol <300 µg/m³, Tetrachlorethene <250 µg/m³, Xylene <200 µg/m³; 1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene <1000 µg/m³; 1, 4-Dichlorbenzene <60 µg/m³; Ethylbenzene <750 µg/m³; 2-Butoxyethanol <1000 µg/m³; Styrene <250 µg/m³; TVOC <1000 µg/m³. As it has the TVOC value, and it is value is equal to 1 mg/m3 (in Low-Emitting Calculator it would be classified as “between 0,5 and 5,0 mg/ m³”), maybe these material still meets the requirements? We would be very grateful for clarifying these matter.

Correct, but this list of VOCs is much smaller than the the list of VOCs that are required for AgBB compliance. Therefore, this documentation is not good enough for the European pathway of compliance with the General Emissions criteria of this LEED credit. Sorry for that. You will need an AgBB-like VOC emissions test to show full compliance.
