Low use printing rooms exempted from needing self-closing doors

We are submitting a project in the next few weeks with this same situation, so I won't have an answer very soon, but maybe Tristan will remind me to post back here with an answer when we get our review back... ;-)

LEED v4 BD+C Reference Guide page 649-INTERIOR CROSS CONTAMINATION PREVENTION STEP 1 indicates that copy rooms with convenience copiers can be excluded. "The definition of convenience copier is left to the discretion of the design team; convenience machines are generally small units shared by many office personnel for short printing and copying." In my opinion, this is similar to v3 only requiring the measures for high-volume copiers, but please post after your review comes back.

On a recent v4 project we had a similar strategy approved. We started with a LEED interpretation ID# 1938 from long ago that described high-volume printers as having a monthly output of 40,000 pages or more.  We found the client's selected office printers have a maximum average monthly use that is about 25% of that threshold. If you look up cut sheets for smaller office printers look for a "recommended average monthly volume" or something similar that can document their intended average use. Uploading a memo and the cutsheets for the printers probably helped. Your mileage may vary...   For a large format printer, we uploaded an email from the client stating their expected use which was even lower - a few large plots per day on average.

Has any used the Xerox Color C60 which is a certified printer that meets the chemical emission test method RAL-UZ171 (which was one of the methods listed in WELL)? I'm wondering if LEED would accept this strategy for the IAQ credit. 

I have a question about the credit EQc1 Enhanced Indoor Air Quality Strategies. It’s about Option 1, Mechanically ventilated spaces, B. interior cross-contamination prevention. Can I attempt the credit option using low-emission printers, certified Blue Angel, as accepted for WELL certification, without installing doors in copy rooms but providing exhaust rates requested? Please consider also that doors for restrooms and other spaces requiring doors would be provided and Part A and C (entryway systems and filtration) are respected.
