CI-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

Automatic Receptacle Control for Renovation projects

ASHRAE requires at least half of all private offices, open offices, and computer classrooms to be controlled by an automatic control device. We are remodeling a 3 story building, but only modifying power on one level. The other two levels are finish work only. Will it be acceptable to follow this ASHRAE requirement only in the spaces with power modifications? I am trying to avoid ripping up all of the walls to meet this requirement!

You are only required to meet the requirements of the standard associated with your scope of work. If you are not changing the system you are not required to bring it up to code.
