I'm not an engineer or designer, but I have a question related to a new apartment I just moved in to. The building is new construction, and only the 4th floor (top floor) is completed. I was able to move into my 4th floor unit while they finish the other floors. The air unit keeps turning on even though the thermostat is set to Off, and we were told that this has something to do with LEED requirements for clean air. This situation is really annoying and in doing some research I found this website. Based on what I found here, it sounds like the air system is flushing the apartment, and because construction is still going on, it's almost continuous. I spoke to one of the other people who also moved in and she's ready to move out because it's so noisy and blows almost-cold air, 24 hours a day. Is my assumption correct, and will this ever end? Is this situation something to bear just during the construction period? Thanks for any input!
