NC-2009 EAp2: Minimum Energy Performance
We are simulating a hotel building with System 2 PTHP. However, when it comes to table 6.8.1D for the minimum efficiency requirements, it is unclear what is meant by the formula 3.60-(0.213XCap/1000)c COP. Is Cap related to the capacity of the real product used in the proposed building or the value that comes out for cooling capacity at the baseline output?

A portion of our building envelope is historic. Can we exclude it from our model?

This is both the minimum mandatory standard COP for your projects PTHPs, for this size and the formula you need to use to calculate COP for your baseline model.
To calculate minimum mandatory COP:
1. Get PTHP capacity (in kW).
2. Calculate minimum COP = 3.60 - (0.213XCapacity/1000)
3. Check for note c in the bottom of the table to see if it applies.
To calculate COP for the baseline:
1.Do a sizing run
2.Get the design capcacity (in kW).
3.Calculate COP = 3.60 - (0.213XCapacity/1000)
4. Check the note at the bottom of the table to see if it applies: c Cap means the rated cooling capacity of the product in kW. If the unit’s capacity is less than 2.1 kW, use 2.1 kW in the calculation. If the unit’s capacity is greater than 4.4 kW, use 4.4
kW in the calculation.

Make sure to apply the Baseline system over-sizing factor in G3.1.2.2 when you have done your sizing run.

Is the rated cooling capacity Cap the cooling capacity of the cooling coil - the heat provided by the fan?

As for the heating coil minimum efficiency for System 1, I see PTAC (cooling mode) only. Where can I find the limit for heating mode? SORRY, I SEE THAT THERE IS A "HOT-WATER FOSSIL FUEL BOILER", THEREFORE I HAVE TO CONSIDER THE EFFICIENCY FOR BOILERS.
