Hello! We're evaluating one of the dormitories of a university for alternative transportation practices and was wondering if any special considerations apply to this type of building since most of its residents simply walk to class. Is there a minimum commute requirement? Does the .25 mile radius beyond the site boundary to include public and private transportation from v2009 still apply?
Thanks!

Hi Patricia, if most building occupants walk it seems like you'd want to pursue Option 2 which is worth far more points. Option 3 might not be a great fit for your project if the majority of occupants already use alternative transit. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding your question.

We have University classes 0.75 to 2.5 km from regular transport road. We have provided car and scooter parking near main gates.
Alternate arrangement of small 6 seat cars to avoid fossil fuel emission near the classrooms. How much credits we can claim.
We are thinking to provide bicycles also for convenient movement from classes, library ,labs and admin.

Hi Salman, it's hard to say based on that information. Conducting a transportation survey might be the best strategy. You'll earn 1 point for just doing the survey correctly (Option 1), and up to 15 points depending on the level of alternative transportation used (Option 2).

We have conducted transporting survey. Now we are planning following steps.
Please let me know if other measures can be taken to reduce transport and get maximum credits.
Regards.
