Hello,
We are working on a convention centre project in Africa, but we are battling to obtain a number for FTE staff numbers. The facility does not have an operator, who could confirm on Staff number. We have managed to obtain historical data on convention centres for guest and event numbers, but cannot obtain historical data on FTE staff numbers.
Would anyone be able to provide guidance on FTE Staff numbers for a convention centre, or even be willing to share data on an existing Convention centre project?

Hi Meghan,
Can you elaborate on the situation that there isn't an operator? Is the staffing variable or maybe provided by the entity that puts on an event? This type of context may direct how or if GBCI would allow an estimate to be used.

Hi Ben,
Thank you for your response. The convention centre is Government owned and first of its kind in the country. An operator will only be appointed at a much later stage, after completion of the building. We would only therefore know staff numbers at that stage. We need to calculate an FTE for our design credits soonest and I am not sure how to do this without staff numbers. I have tried contacting other convention centres, but these facilities are not willing to give out part/full - time staff numbers. Would you have an idea?

I see. I don't know the best way to estimate the FTE values. But, if it's helpful, we recently worked with a convention center that had the following occupancy.
Full Time FTE: 169
Part Time FTE (1/2 day): 43
Daily Avg. Visitors: 1,622
Peak Visitors: 17,630
Gross Floor Area: 1,873,830 square feet
