LEED v3 reference guide has mentioned that 'the exhaust rate must be at least 0.5 cfm per square foot, with no air recirculation'..does it mean exhaust system or AC system??? If for AC system, does it mean that VAV systems can not be applicable in the print room as they may have recirculation air diffuser to return contaminated air back to the building AHUs? So we can only use FCU or VRV systems that air canl be only circulated in the print room itself? We have installed VAV systems with no ventilation in our project...so can we obtain this credit?...

This means no recirculation of air to other spaces- all of your air would have to be exhausted and cannot be recirculated into other spaces through the VAV system. You could supply air with a VAV but it would have to be one without a return in the print room.
One thing to check is to make sure your print room actually needs to comply with the exhaust requirement. Are 40,000 or more copies made in the room each month? If not, you would not have to meet the exhaust requirement in the space.

Thanks Allison. Useful!! We have checked that we will have more than 40,000 or more copies to made.
