FAQs about INc1 :

Can our EBOM v4 project earn 1 point for the Innovation: Occupant Engagement credit AND earn 1 point for the Innovation: Green Building Education credit? Or are projects limited to pursuing just one of these innovation options?

Is there a list of Innovation strategies available to v4 projects?

I’m confused about how many points I can earn for each strategy (innovation vs pilot credit vs exemplary performance). Is there a limit on each type of strategy if we want to earn all five Innovation points?

One of the credits we used for exemplary performance didn’t actually end up earning exemplary performance in the preliminary review. Can we replace it with a different credit that did?

We didn’t claim one of our credits as an exemplary performance point during the preliminary review, but now we’d like to because it earned exemplary performance per the review comments. Is it possible to claim it now?

Hi, I was wondering if the innovation credit for V4 Existing Buildings can receive a point for using Electric Bicycle-Cars.

Hi John, USGBC recently released a new resource for Innovation and Pilot credits for projects know what credits they can attempt based on the rating system and type of project. The information is housed in the credit library and you can access it from this link: http://www.usgbc.org/credits/existing-buildings/v4/pilot-credits You will notice on the left side of the screen there is a tab for Pilot Credits and one for the Innovation Catalogue. It is under these tabs that you can find the open pilot and innovation credits available for your project type. From what I can see I do not think that Electric Bicycle-Cars are an acceptable option. Hope this helps!
