Our project is required (by code) to raise the elevation of the ground floor slab, to account for future sea level rise. Because there are numerous (very, very numerous) floor boxes in the slab, it makes more sense to demo the existing slab and reconstruct a new one, at a higher elevation. Has anyone any experience with this - would we qualify for the exception to exclude this area from the calculations? Thanks!
