EBOM-2009 IEQc3.1:Green Cleaning—High-Performance Cleaning Program

Dilution Systems for Multi-use building

Hi, our project includes a winery production area and has different cleaning protocols then our office and tasting room spaces do. Does the dilution requirement apply to these types of spaces? I understand that this credit requires implementation for 90% of the project's area, but I'd like clarification as it has a different use. What about IEQc3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, and 3.6? Must we apply all of our green cleaning prerequisites and credits to our production area as well? Thanks, -Haley

Hi Haley, I wouldn’t be too concerned with the chemical dilution requirement for the production area. The credit requirements just state that dilution systems should be used to minimize chemical use “wherever possible”. The production area should be included in IEQc3.2, IEQc3.5, and IEQc3.6. But it’s up to you if you want to use compliant cleaning products/materials/equipment (per IEQc3.3 and IEQc3.4) in that space.
