CI-2009 MRc5:Regional Materials

Furniture Cost

In a LEED-CI project, can we attempt for MRc4, MRc5, and MRc7 but not included cost of furniture in the calculator? It means that the furniture is not included in any of the LEED-CI credits. Thanks,

On Tab A of the LEED IDC Material and Resource Calculator spreadsheet, you must include the total, actual cost of all furniture purchased as part of your LEED-CI project. On Tab B of the spreadsheet, where you enter the costs and other attributes for MRc4, MRc5, and other MR credits, you may choose to omit furniture’s contribution, but you MUST include furniture in the Tab A totals. This is one of the distinctions between LEED-NC & LEED-CI. Furniture is not typically part of a New Construction project, so LEED makes including it optional. By contrast, furniture typically comprises a major part of Commercial Interiors project, so furniture is a mandatory part of the equation. As a LEEDuser Member, you should have access to the “Checklist” tab at the top of this webpage. There, you will find some great tips on what to include and how to focus your documentation efforts.

Thank you Jon, The total, actual cost of all furniture purchased for the project is very high and we have to include the cost in Tab B also, otherwise we will lose all related MR credit points.
