I found here two contrary oppinions regarding what area of a building's garage that should be excluded from the gross building area calculations.
Is it just the parking spots or the area covered by parking spots plus the drive and the ramps?
The term "parking areas" can be interpreted in different ways...

Alicja & Jian—By definition, Gross Floor Area “excludes floor area dedicated to the parking and circulation of motor vehicles.” Therefore, you exclude both from the area calculation. Include only interior portions of the building as described in the definition for “Gross Floor Area.”
