Hi
Please advise whether the adhesive applied to the pre-fabricated materials that is furnished offsite must meet the VOC requirement. In case that the adhesive applied for this situation is required to meet the VOC requirement and we cannot find the suitable adhesive. Is it acceptable if we leave the pre-fabricated materials for offgassing for a certain period such as 7 days before the pre-fabricated materials is installed on site.
Thank you

The texts of Credits IEQc4.1 & IEQc4.2 state that the credit requirements apply only to products “used on the interior of the building,” “inside of the weatherproofing system and APPLIED ON-SITE.” Therefore, the VOC restrictions do NOT apply to products applied during off-site pre-fabrication.

I presume the adhesives, sealants, etc. must meet VOC limits when they are used within the building envelope of a modular lab building assembled nearly 500 miles away and then installed on a new foundation on its permanent site.
