District virtual rate:

We have project using district steam. We use DES v2 to calculate the virtual rate based on state averaged electricity (0.084$/kWh) and gas (0.00757$/MBTU). The equation is Steam rate: $/MBTU=gas $/MBTU * 1.81 + Electricity $/kWh*3= .2657 $/MBTU, which is more than 30 times higher than natural gas price. I wonder if there is a typo in DES v2. Does it mean mmBTU rather than MBTU? If I use mmBTU it seems more reasonable. The source of my DES v2 is http://www.usgbc.org/resources/des-district-energy-systems-guidance-v22-...

I think they mean million BTU.
