NC-2009 IEQc3.2:Construction IAQ Management Plan—Before Occupancy

Flush-Out Requirement for a Naturally Ventilated Building

The project is an 8 story residence hall on a university campus. The building is not equipped with a central ventilation system and dorm rooms rely on natural ventilation. My options appear to be 1) air quality testing and 2) using temporary fans mounted in the windows. Are those the only two options to meet this requirement? For option 2 are all 500+ rooms to be tested?

Eric, yes, those are the options. For testing, you don't have to test all the rooms. See our guidance above for a bit more detail on that.
