NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

Multi-purpose unit for 4-pipe systems

I'm considering a "Multi-purpose indoor unit for use in 4-pipe systems for the simultaneous production of chilled and hot water by means of two independent water circuits". The unit transfers heat from a chilled water loop to a heated water loop. If the requests of heated water and chilled water are not balanced, then heat is exchanged with ambient air. What mandatory provisions shall such a system respect? Shall I consider Table 6.8.1C? Regards

Section 6.4.3 in general perhaps. Section 6.5.2 certainly comes to mind as well. Based on your description I am not sure which 6.8.1 table would apply. If none of them specifically apply then there is no minimum efficiency requirement since 90.1 does not not address it.
