EBOM-2009 EAp3:Fundamental Refrigerant Management

Refrigerants outside of the building, but still on site

We have a property with a commercial ice machine, which uses more than 0.5 Lb CFC 502 refrigerant. The machine is located outside of, and well away from the building, but within the LEED project boundary and is used by service technicians to fill up their coolers. While this unit is not indoors or part of what I would consider the base building systems, it is still onsite, and still consumes energy. Does this unit need to be included in this prerequisite? The prerequisite verbiage is rather specific to the building and does not reference units outside of and not connect to it. I look forward to your response!

Levi, I would include it as being inside the LEED project boundary.
