Schools-2009 WEc1:Water Efficient Landscaping

Playing fields exclusion NC 2009

Projects other than Schools: Can they exclude playing fields in certain credits just like Schools can? (eg the training playing grounds of a soccer team, in a site that"ll accommodate the team"s guest house/dormitories building)

Fragiskos, for a non-Schools project I'd say you'd need a CIR or other guidance from GBCI, since making playing fields optional is mentioned specifically for schools.

Tristan, in the Jan 8, 2013 Key LEED Interpretations post LEEDuser references LEED Interpretation 10217: “This ruling was updated on 4/1/13. It states that all LEED projects can choose to include or exclude athletic fields at the project teams discretion from BD&C WEc1 (and EBOM WEc3), but that this should be done consistently with other credits. The 4/1/13 update specifies that they should be included or excluded consistently with other WE credits.” I cannot find updated language directly from USGBC stating that the exemption if included consistently for ONLY other WE credits is acceptable. Has anyone had project success referencing the 4/1/13 update thereby excluding the field from irrigation and other WE credit but including the field in SS credits?
