What is the number of cycles necessary to achieve 1 point? 10?

Jonathan, first, there is no 1-point threshold. Second, I don't think the way you framed your question applies exactly to how the credit is written. See the language above. Or, please clarify your question.
Hi Tristan, In Table 2. Points for Cooling Tower Water Cycles it states:
Maximum number of cycles achieved without exceeding any filtration levels or affecting operation of condenser water system (up to maximum of 10 cycles) - 2 points
Achieve a minimum 10 cycles by increasing the level of treatment in condenser or make-up water - 3 points
OR Achieve the number of cycles for 1 point and use a minimum 20% recycled nonpotable water - 3 points
My confusion exists within the last statement of the credit language which specifies "achieve the number of cycles for 1 point..."
Thanks!
Hi Jonathan - the language is a bit confusing, since the number of cycles available for 1 point varies by project.
Say a project must get to 6 cycles for 1 point, based on their water composition - for two points, they can either increase the level of treatment, to safely reach 10 cycles, OR they can stay at 6 cycles, but substitute 20% of their potable water for a nonpotable water source (of equal or better composition in terms of dissolved solids, etc.), so that only 80% the water used in those 6 cycles is coming from the municipal potable water supply. Does that make more sense?
