NC-2009 MPR2:Must be a complete, permanent building or space

Exclude retail?

Our project has got some retail on the ground floor of an office building that the design team does not want to include in the LEED assessment. The retail area is completely separated from the rest of the building (there is no access from the office building to the retail or vice-versa). Can the project team decide to exclude the retail space?

You can only exclude the retail space if you're following the MPR requirements (see above). You can't exclude it just because it will make your LEED documentation more convenient to do so.
