The pilot credit aligns with the overall direction and advancement of LEED and compliance with this credit spurs market innovation/transformation. The projected annual water use calculations for sub-metered items were a standard part of our project’s design and construction process and the established performance thresholds also seemed appropriate for the project. We can foresee difficulties in certain industries with sharing consumption information with external parties, however this is not the case in this instance. Also there is currently no requirement for electronic monitoring of water consumption. It might be reasonable to incorporate a requirement to electronically monitor consumption data.
