NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

New Table 1.4 Spreadsheet SI-Units

Dear all, we gladly noticed that the Table 1.4 spreadsheet improved a lot. Now it is more like a interactive toolkit. Unfortunately most of the items are just in IP-Units available. That makes this kit very error-prone because we are working in SI-Units and have to transfer everything (e.g. U-Values). I asked the GBCI if a SI-Unit-implementation is planned - they replied "As far as we know, this is not in development". We would appreciate, if this will be developed shortly, also becaused SI-units are generaly admitted by the USGBC. I would like to ask you if you are also concerned by this to ask again and again for it, to put some pressure on it. Merci! regards, Johannes

I would second that as well would 40% of all LEED projects being outside of the states (i.e. using the metric system...funny, when I think about it, just the states still uses IP).

We do remain backward when it comes to measuring things. If the project does not do the conversion then the reviewer must do it since the reviewers are mostly familiar with the IP units. USGBC has a conversion tool and we developed our own spreadsheet to help as well. Ideally the form would contain both and you could enter one or the other and it would do the conversion.
