Hi.
The credit language states that the number of sampling locations will depend on the size of the building and the number of ventilation systems.
We have 21 identical built operation rooms in our building, all served by separate ventilation systems due to healthcare regulations. Is it enough to perform testing on one of these spaces (the one that was built last, thereby containing most contaminations) or will we be required to perform 21 individual tests to fulfill credit compliance?
Kindly

By separate ventilation systems do you mean only dedicated exhaust? Is the supply all from one air handler? If you are exhausting each OR, then that should not impact the testing location as I understand it. If you have more than one air supply system, this can. We use 20,000 s.f. as a rule of thumb for determining testing zones when we are planning this credit but ultimately we have the testing company that is providing the bid to us make the final determination. Your floor plan layout can also impact the testing zones. In short, it depends.

The ventilation system (100 % OA) has one common supply duct but 21 AHU:s with individual exhaust ducts. Does this mean 21 tests or can we claim that we comply if we do a test in the room with the highest pollution (i.e. the one finished last)?

Do you have any thoughts Susan?

Emil, Apparently not! Sorry, I did not see this and now it is 6 months later. What did you wind up doing? For what it is worth, I'm going to say testing all AHUs as a starting point. Susan

Well, we are just in the early construction phase and the testing will no be done until 2015. So I ahead of time :). Anyhow, the building is a 200000 sf HC-building with 21 Operating rooms. They are however 800 sf each, so a quite small part of the building. Our idea was to test one since they are all built the same and since they are a minority of the building it seems bettet to focus on other areas instead. Do you think that will be accepted?
