2 part question
1 - we are at the threshold between silver and gold. Is it possible to speak to our reviewer. The credit we need is in the Energy model and only
involves a 1percent difference. I am wondering if the reviewer saw any
probable ways to save a bit more energy before submitting the final
2 - our review was a combined review. We will not receive one of the ID
credits and I have substituted another credit in its place. Since we have
not received the Final review is this appropriate in the combined review
first round?

Suzanne, you could try contacting GBCI about the energy model but I very much doubt you will get the kind of feedback you're looking for, particularly because the reviewer is going to be looking for your model to be accurate—not to find ways to tweak the model to improve the results. If you want to improve your actual energy performance, I would go back to the design team and the modeler and look for additional savings. With your second question, I'm not sure if you're allowed to do that, but it's certainly worth a try, since the alternative is to submit an appeal, which carries a $500 fee.

It is inappropriate for a reviewer to give consulting advice in this nature. The only information you would get is how to make corrections to your energy model if not done correctly.
You can submit a different ID credit in the final review. But it will only get that one look. So if that is not earned, then you will need to do the appeal.

Regarding #2:
If your first ID credit was denied or you think it cannot be achieved, you can subsitute another ID credit and submit for final review. The only issue is that it will only get one look and will be ruled upon without you being able to make any clarifications on it.
Since you are already not getting the first ID credit, you don't have anything to lose if you replace with a different one, right? You can only gain a point.
Just make sure your documentation is super tight on it and do not leave anything to chance.
Good luck!
