I'm working on a science building on a prep school campus with a lot of lab space. It was entered as a school into Target Finder, but obviously compares poorly to regular school buildings. The initial review notes that our Target Finder result (10) "indicates higher than average consumption for a newly constructed building reported to have a performance improvement of 26.62% using the ASHRAE 90.1..." etc. Right! But that's because it's being compared to dissimilar buildings. Should we enter it as "Other" instead? Does LEED accept that? Or should we just explain the apples-to-oranges problem?

Just explain that the project has a significant lab component. I would check off on the form that Target Finder does not cover this project type.
