CI-2009 MRp1:Storage and Collection of Recyclables

Will the requirements of this prerequisite be complied with only by having a waste storage room for the whole building with one container for a single stream recycling (that will accommodate all five waste streams)? If I understand well the segregation bins for 5 types of waste are not required to be placed in the tenant area, is that correct?

You are correct that if a comingled recyclables collection service is utilized, then there is no requirement for separate bins. It is important to discuss the specifics for your project though, including expected volume your project will generate, why the recycling area utilized is adequate, and details about the service (such as frequency of collection, acceptance of the five materials listed on the credit form as a minimum, and ease of accessibility as seen on a floor plan).
