NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

Heat Recovery wheel

I am Using equest to do the energy model.but it seems it can t model a energy recovery ventilator to serve several systems. So my question is can I model each system with small ERV using the same effectiveness of the one available in the design so the total fresh and exhaust in each system will be same as in the design

eQUEST can model a single ERV serving multiple systems.

Do you mean modelling a make up air unit with a dummy zone.? If I made it unconditioned will that make the cooling cool not work and j will model erv not mau?

The best place to post software specific questions is the eQUEST discussion forum found on onebuilding.org There is extensive discussion in the archive on this subject. First question - That is one way to do it. Second question - You can't model a system for an unconditioned space.

I read this method in onebuilding.org (dummy zone) the other method is by using multiple ERV for each system( instead if having a central one) by assuming same effectiveness and giving the power proportionally to the flow.can this b accepted. Or I LL assume a conditioned dummy zone with a schedule not allowing the cooling cool of the MAU to work (lets say I will set the thermostat to 35 def c) Can you give w your opinion

Either way can work. The later will require that you explain how you have modeled it. Make sure that the OA in the proposed model matches the information on the mechanical schedules.
