NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

Demand Charge & 25% Procsee Cost

Hi, everyone, If there is a project with demand charge, how should we deal with the rule of 25% process cost. Assume one building annual cost like below: total demand cost(by $/kw)=1$ total energy cost (by $/kwh) =3$ SUM = 4$ How much dollar this building need to pay for the process cost when this building comply with the 25% rule? Thank you very much for any suggestion. Joey

If you model the entire rate structure, then yes you would include the demand effect on cost in the total dollars. Let's be clear on the 25% "rule". You DO NOT have to show a minimum 25% process cost. Model the proposed building as designed and constructed. This includes the process equipment. If you are under 25% simply summarize your assumptions in a narrative and/or spreadsheet. If you are over 25% you don't need to do anything extra.
