I'd like to confirm that if a project is pursuing EQc5, that they must use MERV 13 filters for flush-out but can still use MERV 8 filters on equipment that is operated during construction. Anyone have experience that contradicts this? Thanks!
You rely on LEEDuser. Can we rely on you?

We are pursuing IAQ during construction and we are using MERV8 filters on supply air grilles. I also understand that during construction MERV 8 filters are the norm for use on supply or return air grilles permanent equipment. As Steve above, anyone could please confirm this?
Yes- MERV 8 filters during construction are all that are required even if you are pursuing IEQc5.
O'kay. So, in accordance with SMACNA 2nd edition 2007, ANSI/SMACNA 008-2008 (Chapter 3), (which I'm assuming would be used for all versions of LEED New Construction since the newest standard should take precedence, right?), at least MERV 8 filters are required for use during construction and during building flush-out but what about just immediately prior to occupancy? Is MERV 8 still the minimum requirement? The intent and requirements link does not specify which rating to use then.
