Hi.
I'm LEED AP but don't have experience for LEED certifications. This is my first time.
I'm working on LEED certification for US army project.
The project consists of 4 buildings : two offices bldg & two storages.
I wonder this project can certify a group of new buildings as a package and be rated as a package and only one rating received.
Accroding to LEED NC Application Guide for Multiple Buildings and On Campus Building Projects(AGMBC, 2005), EQ credit require every building must meet credit requirement independently.
Storages are considered FTE is less than 1, so I think they are not needed to earn EQ credit. But I think the other credit categories(EA, MR..etc.) can be applied to them.
Is it possible to register project grouping all buildings above? or make a group only two office buildings?
This project is applied LEED ver 2.2, not ver.3 and doesn't register at leedonline. US army want LEED ver 2.2, because US army(not GBCI) evaluate this with ver 2.2 directly.
I heard about there is no MPR(Minimum Program Requirement) in ver2.2. So I don't know how to grouped these buildings.
Any comments would be appriciated.

Hi!
Based on your inquiry we believe you may have recently registered your project, or are at least registered under a 2009 rating system. If this is the case you cannot utilize the NCV2.2 (New Construction version 2.2) rating system or the 2005 AGMBC method. All 2009 rating systems must utilize the 2010 AGMBC guidance. This guidance is available through this link https://www.usgbc.org/ShowFile.aspx?DocumentID=7987.
To continue with this assumption and to answer your questions, the storage buildings you describe would not be able to meet Minimum Program Requirement (MPR) 5 - Must Comply with Minimum Occupancy Rates in regards to the IEQ category in the LEED rating system. Note that you can still certify the buildings, however may be unable to earn IEQ credits. For more information about the MPRs refer to this link http://www.usgbc.org/ShowFile.aspx?DocumentID=6473.
In regards to group certification, at this time project teams cannot utilize group certification and there is no additional guidance including what else it will entail or how project teams can prepare for its release. More information is expected in the first quarter of 2012. Group certification is where multiple buildings will achieve one certification. Your project team may wish to utilize the campus credit option in the 2010 AGMBC method. The campus approach certifies each building individually but helps to streamline the certification process.
Thank you for building a green building!
