Extension

Jason,

You can request an extention through GBCI for some reasonable timeframe, say 2 weeks (10 business days) extra. I believe this is usually acceptable but of course, your request could be denied, it is up to their discression.

The avenue for making this request has changed somewhat, so I'd suggest calling GBCI to get detailed information on the latest procedures.

Good luck!

Hi Emily, thanks for the advice. do you experience in extending the timeframe? We thinking to email the reviewer team, because of the time zone different.

Email would also work but a phone call is quickest. We've had extensions up to 25 days.

Hi Susan, Doesn't GBCI need a written note or email to keep as record? be possible to share with me, what is the reason you told GBCI for the extension of 25days?

Normally, you set the no. of days you need. Say, you are waiting for a mail to arrive any day now or the LEED Admin is on-leave for a month or Design Consultant replaced with a new one. Tell the true story and the Reviewer will ascertain whether your request is valid. Or if you are just vying time because the Client hasn't decided yet on buying Green Power or Solar Panel, you might as well use the Appeal for a fee.

The Rep. that will take your call will change the dates on the spot and will send you (LEED Project Admin & all LEED Project Manager) an email confirming your request.

Jason, Agree with Romano. We needed the extension due to other project deadlines and they sent the confirming email.
