Andrew, I have asked around extensively and found no one who has attempted this path. I think you are a pioneer! Let us know what you learn! Perhaps the Heschong-Mahone Group would have input?
Thanks Tristan for asking around, we have recieved comments back, but I haven't had time to look at them, I think the exemplary performance part is still under review, definitely will keep you and the forum up to date on the result. If there is still clarity that needs to be resolved I may call Heschong-Mahone...
Hi Andrew, have you learned more on the EP path here since your review comments?
Andrew and Tristan, I am also attempting to achieve the EP point for this credit. My first concern is: Does Measure 4 only apply to office spaces since the Heschong- Mahone study is of office spaces? I am working on a college residence hall and it seems to have over 90% of the room that will meet the >view factor 3 criteria.
For the documentation part, I cut a section through a typical unit and draw a 42" tall horizontal line from the window to the back wall of the room. Then connect that point to the top and to the bottom of the window and measure that vertical angle. Show that angle is >11degree to qualify a view factor 3 or higher. I also have a plan view of the room showing the horizontal angle of the window to critical points in the room is over 11 degree.
I do have a question about Measure 2. Can a view qualify for the vegetation and human activity requirement if one has to look down the window to see it?
